Job Title: ADC Program Chaplain?s Assistant

Department: Women?s Resident Ministries

Reports To: ADC Program Manager

FLSA: Regular, Full Time, Non-Exempt

Grade Level: 5

SUMMARY: Demonstrates Christ-like behavior and attitude in all job duties and responsibilities. Responsible for monitoring and maintaining security at the Anne Douglas Center by performing the following duties:

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

 

  • As appropriate, offers prayer and encouragement consistent with Scripture and the principles of Los Angeles Mission, Inc.
  • Supports the Intake and Admissions Coordinator with transitioning new students into program.
  • Assist ADC Case Managers with designation and oversight of student vocational assignments.
  • Assist with the coordination of ADC activities involving alumni, Life Start, and Bridge residents.
  • Assist Case Managers with 12-step and relapse Prevention groups as needed.
  • Assist with admissions and case management of bridge bed program candidates.
  • Maintain upkeep of original student admission files, in conjunction with Intake Coordinator.
  • Assist with front desk coverage as needed.
  • Ensures safety of guests and residents at the Anne Douglas Center.
  • Initiates contact with Case Managers or designated persons when deemed necessary for resident intervention.
  • Checks in with Los Angeles Mission Security Department occasionally during shift.
  • Conducts routine bed checks at quiet time and periodic room checks throughout the shift, reporting absences, etc.
  • Assist with student medication management, logging in new medications, dispensing, and recording of residents? self-administered prescription medicine.
  • Enters client?s medications and drug test results into the data management system.
  • Communicates observations to Chaplains regarding behavioral patterns that may or may not conform to program guidelines.
  • Attends staff meetings, weekly devotions, student assemblies, and graduations.
  • Conducts urine tests for residents and enters results in the data management system.
  • Assist Case Managers with transporting residents to court and medical appointments.
  • Provides clerical support for Cace Managers as assigned.
  • On occasion transports residents on outside activities.
  • May conduct Sunday morning Bible study with residents.
  • May escort residents to Sunday Chapel services.
  • Creates and submits daily reports of rule violations and program activities.
  • Assist with keeping resident bulletin boards maintained as needed.
  • Facilitate monthly student recreation outings.
  • Facilitate monthly student birthday celebrations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a disagreeable element such as noise, heart, dust, or cold. Employee may be exposed to some abuse from angry callers. The employee is regularly exposed to some risk of communicable disease from guest of facility, exposure to TB and other respiratory diseases.
