Division: National Programs                        Reports to: Adamah Campus Manager

Status: Part-time (20 hours/week)            Salary: $24/hour

Adamah on Campus is a program of Adamah, designed by and directed towards Jewish college students passionate about Jewish environmentalism. Adamah on Campus is actively building a joyful, resilient generation of Jewish environmental leaders through education, climate action, and community building. Led by a staff team and National Student Leadership Board, we work with students from around the US to form chapters at their Hillels/campuses and connect with national opportunities. Job Summary:

Roles and Responsibilities  

The LA Campus Coordinator will work with the Adamah Campus Manager to support and grow the Adamah on Campus program and support the Campus chapter processes, with a specific focus on LA campus development and programming.  

This person will also work with the other LA based Adamah staff member, the Jewish Youth Climate Movement LA Kvutzah Coordinator, for regional partnerships and program engagement pipeline.  

  • Track, update, and analyze chapter data (programs, members, etc.) in data management system. 
  • Develop clear recruitment, onboarding, and check in processes with campus chapters. 
  • Facilitate meetings and calls with campus professionals and interested students. 
  • Facilitate the creation of three Adamah Campus chapters in LA, in addition to supporting the existing two, and create a cohort experience for these five campus chapters. 
  • Network within the LA green tech community and build a connected community base for group support, programming, and resource sharing within the network. 
  • Coordinate two gatherings of business school students throughout the year, which will be focused on green tech and networking.  
  • Support the planning and logistics for the March Alternative Spring Break trip, and attend as a staff-member, supporting the implementation of the retreat. 
  • Back-end systems management (including: portal maintenance, sharepoint document organization, spreadsheet management, etc). 
  • Support campus communications, including newsletters and social media (with the National Student Leadership Board). 
  • Attend weekly department meetings, monthly all-staff meetings, and other meetings as required (virtual). 
  • Attend bi-monthly Adamah Campus National Student Leadership Board meetings virtually. 
  • Compile an LA Jewish Climate guide with resources, organizations, speakers, and opportunities for students and their chapters to reference and plug into as relevant.  
  • Other duties/tasks as assigned. 

 

Helpful prior skills and experience include:

  • Strong background in community organizing. 
  • Strong background in Jewish communal engagement.  
  • Familiarity with environmental language, including climate justice frameworks, and sustainability initiatives.  
  • Strong organizational and time management and project management skills. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Able to adapt to changing situations. 
  • Comfortable working virtually, and coordinating in person events. 
  • Event / retreat planning and coordination experience. 
  • Experience using Canva and social media management a plus.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and hold multiple projects at once.
  • Self-starter, ability to self-motivate and work on solo projects as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail as well as ability to hold a big-picture view.
  • Commitment to deadlines and task completion.
  • Experience in Salesforce or a similar CRM system is preferred, but not required (you will be trained to use Salesforce as an important part of this position). 
  • Strong administration and Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft SharePoint.

 

General:

  • Attend weekly department meetings.
  • Attend monthly all-staff meetings.
  • Must maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Must be able to adapt to changing situations.
  • Other tasks/duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

  • This is a part time position, remote, with the requirement to be able to travel easily around LA for site visits and program support, as well as occasional domestic travel. 
  • The Coordinator will work 20 hours/week at $24/hour. 
  • Occasional evenings and weekend work is a possibility.
