Job Description
The Senior Defined Benefits Administrator (Enrolled Actuary) is responsible for managing a DB caseload, assisting the Director of Retirement Services with additional projects, and serving as the company’s Enrolled Actuary. The DB Admin utilizes, shares and expands their comprehensive administration knowledge to contribute to the growth of the team. They will have a continual focus on DB administration, process improvement, accuracy of work and client service.
Job Responsibilities:
- Independently handle a caseload of small to mid-size Defined Benefit retirement plans while providing excellent client service and responding to inquiries in a professional manner
- Assist in department projects and strategic initiatives
- Ensure all confidential data and sensitive client issues is protected, secure and handled properly
- Research and maintain updated industry knowledge including laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations
- Provide actuarial and administration support to clients
- Perform compliance testing - Top-Heavy, 401(k), 401(m), 410(b), 401(a)(4)
- Respond to client requests and maintain client relationships
- Perform benefit calculations, valuations, AFTAP and schedule B
- Prepare reporting packages
- Recommend plan design changes to client (cross tested DB & DC as well as combined DB/DC plans)
- Assist with proposals and handle new client implementations
Qualified candidates will have:
- 3-5 years direct DB administration experience (preferably small to midsize plans)
- Enrolled Actuary designation to sign documents required
- Pension formula knowledge
- Experience with DC administration is a plus
- Relius Administration (or similar) experience
- Client management experience
- Proven organization skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work effectively in a fast-paced team environment

Travel Requirements:
Required travel to the Chicago home office approximately 3-4 times per year.
