The Actuarial Associate will work on our Small Group ACA Pricing team, with the main focus being preparing and submitting rate filings. This will also involve preparing and analyzing monitoring reports, developing forecasts, plus reviewing, and updating pricing factors. Additionally, this position will help to evaluate impacts of contracting or benefit changes and analyze recent experience using statistical programming and database tools to look for opportunities and risks within the pricing blocks.
The Actuarial Associate will work closely with our Commercial segment, partnering in product development as well as evaluating and strengthening our expanding set of ACO provider partnerships across our growing service area.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field
- 5 years of work experience beyond degree (ex. 9 years of experience without a bachelor's degree required)
- Progress along the Actuarial exam pathway is required
Preferred Qualifications:
- ASA designation is preferred
- Healthcare experience is preferred
- Proficiency in Excel and experience in SAS or SQL is also preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to balance several projects and deadlines at once
This position is a Hub role, which requires an employee to occasionally come onsite to the designated office - Minnetonka MN, Madison WI, Omaha NE - for applicable heads-up work. Frequency is determined by business need as decided by leadership.
