Overview:

Founded in 1995, SIGMA Actuarial Consulting Group, Inc. provides independent property and casualty actuarial consulting services to risk managers, brokers, captive managers, risk management consultants, TPAs, and CPAs. Our consulting services include all analyses necessary to ensure proper financial reporting and program funding. As our firm continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Actuarial Analyst to join our team. As a key member of the SIGMA team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our actuarial consultants and senior actuaries by providing insightful analyses, strategic recommendations, and expertise in the property and casualty insurance space.

Key Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience working as a data analyst or an Actuarial Analyst, preferably in the property and casualty insurance space.
  • Critical thinking skills, a strategic mindset, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to efficiently handle multiple active projects.
  • Strong communication and time management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks and stay focused on objectives.
  • Progress towards relevant actuarial exams is supported but not required.
  • Ability to be in-office full-time. This position is NOT virtual or hybrid.
  • Proficiency in EXCEL.

Responsibilities:

As an Actuarial Analyst, you will assist both analytical and consultative aspects of our team, including but not limited to:

  • Ensuring data quality and accuracy by making necessary checks and corrections.
  • Analyzing large datasets to extract meaningful insights which contribute to decision-making processes.
  • Communicating findings and recommendations effectively, both in writing and verbally, to internal team members.
  • Aiding in the organization and execution of actuarial projects while adhering to timelines and deliverables.
  • Conducting research on industry trends, regulations, and competitive landscapes to stay informed about relevant developments.
  • Participating in ongoing professional development opportunities, including actuarial exams, and training programs, if applicable.
