Activities Director

Responsibilities:
- Plan and organize a variety of activities and events for residents in a nursing home. Our maximum number of residents is 45 whose average age is 95.

- Develop and implement engaging programs that promote socialization, physical activity, and mental stimulation
- Coordinate with staff and volunteers to ensure activities are carried out effectively.
- Assess residents' needs and interests to tailor activities to their preferences
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress
- Communicate regularly with residents, families, and staff to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns

Lead and direct a staff of two assistants.

Requirements:

Applicant must be licensed or registered as an Activities professional or life enrichment specialist.
- 3 years previous experience as an Activities Director is preferred.
- Knowledge of senior care, dementia care, and memory care practices
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with elderly individuals
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and priorities

Pay: From $26.00 per hour
