Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a diverse range of activities and programs to meet the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of our residents
- Coordinate and lead group activities such as games, crafts, exercise classes, and outings
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed
- Communicate regularly with residents, their families, and staff to assess individual preferences and interests
- Manage the activity calendar and ensure activities are scheduled appropriately
- Plan and organize special events and celebrations for holidays and birthdays
- Provide support and guidance to volunteers assisting with activities
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in caregiving or recreational therapy preferred
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff
- Excellent organizational skills for schedule management and event planning
- Knowledge of senior care principles, including dementia care, is a plus
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in improving the quality of life for seniors
