OVERVIEW: Accounts Receivable Specialist follows up on all Patient accounts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Experience in working ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE ‘aged AR’ in a physician medical practice.
- Possesses Experience in working with Personal Injury Claims in a Physician Practice
- Knowledge and experience with Auto Insurance, Health Insurance and Letter of Protection
- Experience in contacting insurance carrier/attorney/patient to seek resolution on account.
- Responsible for tracking payment on cases once settled to ensure payment is received and posted.
- Responsible for follow up with Attorney’s regarding outstanding accounts and the status of case resolution.
- Responsible for providing the Attorney’s with updated billing ledgers and account information regarding balance due.
- Serves as a resource for questions related to all collection’s activities for cases.
- Ability to analyze account and determine proper steps to resolution of outstanding claims for payment.
- Responsible to properly work aged AR timely and accurately.
- Ability to communicate with external Payor/Attorney Firms effectively and efficiently.
- Performs other duties as requested.
ABILITIES:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to prepare professional emails and other methods of communication.
- Ability to calculate basic figures and amounts.
- Proficiency in basic principles of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to navigate within an EMR system (E-Clinical Works).
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING:
- High School diploma or GED
- PIP/LOP experience
