Under general supervision, receives and posts payments to customer Accounts Receivable Ledger using remittance detail included with checks, bank wire transfer reports, facsimile and spreadsheet payment information received from affiliated companies.

 

What You Will Do: 

  • Runs daily job to create electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) file and transmits to bank.
  • Runs daily job to Post bank EFT file to Customer’s Accounts Receivable Ledger.
  • Receives and posts payments in the form of checks, bank wire transfer reports, facsimile and spreadsheets to Customer Accounts Receivable Ledger.
  • Communicates with customers to investigate and resolve un-reconcilable payments and unauthorized deductions from payments.
  • Creates and faxes payment schedules to selected distributors weekly, biweekly or monthly.
  • Makes daily customer COD calls.
  • Reviews and analyzes accounts.
  • Reports the following: Weekly 45 day aging reports.
  • Write short payment, skipped, past due and final letters
  • Completes journal entry offsets and make financial adjustments.
  • Applies daily customer payments, input daily cash, enter check information into account and clear customers from default.
  • Handles journal entry offsets and account clean up.
  • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining assigned account for reconciling.
  • Assists drivers with credit issues, release numbers.
  • Audits credit, financial credit & debit memos.
  • Runs & Seals notice of obligation.
  • Opens mail, sets up credit files, logs in financial statements, etc.
  • Runs job to create month end Accounts Receivable statements for customers.
  • Keeps daily balance of cash receipts with bank reports.
  • Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Files documents in a timely fashion.
  • Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations.

What You Will Need: 

  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 2 years of Accounts Receivable experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Computer skill requirements include: basic MS Word and MS Access; intermediate MS Excel.
  • Skilled in using 10-key by touch.
  • Experienced in reading and comprehending simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Experienced in writing simple correspondence and procedures.
  • Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

 

 

What Will Set You Apart: 

  • Some college course work in accounting.
  • 4 years of Accounts Receivable experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • JD Edwards experience.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Skilled in writing routine reports, correspondence and procedures. Skilled in effectively presenting information and responding to questions in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Skilled in calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Skilled in applying concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Skilled in analyzing and performing detailed numbers-oriented tasks accurately.
  • Skilled in applying common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Skilled in dealing with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Experienced in working under pressure, meeting aggressive deadlines and making sound decisions.
  • Skilled in using discretion when dealing with confidential information.
  • Good organizational skills.

Compensation:

  • Hiring Salary Range Posted: $25.25- $34.10.
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
