SalarySUMMARY: Obtains financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. Assignments are routine in nature and are carried out in accordance with general instructions and established procedures under the direction of the accounting supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
- Date stamps all PO's, Packing Lists, and Invoices.
- Matches, P.O. receipts and invoices. Obtain approvals.
- Code invoice batches, obtain approvals, prepare voucher spreadsheet, and turn in with invoice batch for supervisor approval, enter batches in the system. File all PO's after completed.
- Process checks requests.
- Process freight bills.
- Scan approved invoices, send to corporate, maintain Accounts Payable files, and enter in system.
- Respond to vendor inquiries, research accounts payable invoice issues.
- Contact vendors for invoices and POD's if needed.
- Review open PO's and receipts/invoices that need additional information and/or processing.
- Train for back up to other accounting positions.
- Other duties as needed.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; and two years accounting / bookkeeping experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prefer Accounts Payable and Microsoft Excel experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and Standard Operating Procedures. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Ability to effectively communicate via email, phone, and Microsoft Teams.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply mathematical applications to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form. Must be able to solve problems quickly and with good judgment.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to use computer and all standard programs used by the industry and the ability to learn and effectively use all other computer programs that are or will be made available.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to use hand to finger coordination; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: Note: The hours and days of work are established as needed by operations and at the discretion of management and, while generally as shown below, may be changed (increased or decreased) by management as required. Hours of Work: Generally, 8 or more hours per day, normally five days per week. Occasional weekend work may be required as needed.
