Job Description
Robert Half currently has an opening for an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk. This Accounts Payable Clerk role will be located in the Chicago, Illinois area and will be a long-term contract / temporary position. In this influential department, there is a possibility for further career growth and advancement. The Accounts Payable Clerk will be expected to match and batch code invoices, resolve A/P issues, process expense reports, update and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L, and process checks.
How you will make an impact
- Verify, log and send checks, including facilitating special handling
- Execute full-cycle A/P
- Handle the customer service needs of internal business partners
- Handle daily department mail by opening, sorting, and distributing it
- Accurately execute daily processes and controls in a timely manner while ensuring company policies are followed
- Sort, log, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents
- Handle the administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department
- Provide internal and external audit assistance as required
- Execute additional tasks as needed- Prior experience in an A/P role preferred
- AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred
- Experience with contracting
- Comprehensive knowledge of documentation
- Solid understanding of Printing
- Prior experience with Confidentiality
- Command of Microsoft Excel
- General familiarity with Microsoft Word
- Earlier work involving About Time
- Hands-on experience with Purchase Orders
- Solid understanding of Onsite
- Proven knowledge of Invoice
- Knowledge of ERP Solutions
- Quality experience with Review
- Good understanding of Workstation Support
- Strong familiarity with processor
- Foundational knowledge in Written Communication
- Accounts Payable (AP) experience highly desired
- Skills in Clerical Duties
- Comprehension of Closing Processes
- Practical knowledge of Cash Activity
- Previous experience working with Perform Ad Hoc Financial
- Well-founded grasp of Payment Processing
- Experience with Financial Notes
- Wide ranging experience with Microsoft Outlook

- Strong familiarity with planning
- Excellent attention to detail
- Spreadsheet and database capabilities
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with those in the technical and financial backgrounds
