Shoe Carnival has an immediate opening for a detailed Accounts Payable clerk to add to our dedicated Accounts Payable team. Enjoy working on-site at Shoe Carnival's corporate office located in Evansville, Indiana! This is a day shift position - Monday -Friday 8:00-5:00pm.
The Accounts Payable Associate processes invoices received for payment and ensures vendors are paid in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.
- Processes a high volume of vendor invoices, including coding, keying and payment reconciliation in a fast-paced environment.
- Communicates with the buying staff regarding invoice and purchase order discrepancies.
- Ensures sales/use tax compliance and accrue use tax when required.
- Responds to vendor inquiries and resolve issues on a timely basis.
- Processes annual 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC files.
- Processes annual Puerto Rico Informative Returns file.
- Assists with financial audit requests.
- Assists with on-going software enhancement projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business preferred.
- 3-5 years Accounting experience preferred.
- Experience working with Accounting software required; Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and advanced Excel experience required.
- Efficient and detail-oriented with a positive attitude.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills required.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with an ability to multi-task.
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team with management and associates at all levels.
- Willingness to take initiative and continually look for ways to improve processes.
