Accounts Payable Analyst/Receptionist

Background
LHG is seeking a highly motivated, detailed-oriented Accounts Payable Analyst/Receptionist to join our team at our headquarters in Fairfax, VA. This position combines responsibilities from two key areas within the organization: managing Accounts Payable processes and providing administrative support as a receptionist.
Job Duties
Duties will include:
Accounts Payable Analyst:
Processing invoices and expense reports accurately and in a timely manner.
Reconciling vendor statements and resolving discrepancies.
Maintaining vendor accounts and ensuring proper documentation and approval for payments.
Generating and analyzing Accounts Payable reports to monitor spending and identify potential issues.
Assisting with month-end close processes, including accruals and reconciliations.
Collaborating with other departments to ensure proper coding and classification of expenses.
Responding to vendor inquiries and resolving payment discrepancies.
Assisting with audits and providing documentation as needed.
Identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing efficiency enhancements.
Staying informed about changes in accounting regulations and best practices related to Accounts Payable.
Receptionist:
Greet and welcome visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
Answer and direct incoming phone calls to the appropriate staff members or departments.
Manage the reception area, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
Handle other assignments as required.
Minimum Position Requirements
Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
2+ years of relevant experience in Accounts Payable or a similar financial role.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with vendors, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations governing Accounts Payable processes.
Handle other assignments as required.
Proficiency in Costpoint Deltek is essential. Familiarity with QuickBooks is a plus.
Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and learn new systems or procedures as needed.
