Accounting Team Member

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Team Member to join our growing institution. To succeed in this position, you will be thorough, extremely accurate, efficient and have the ability to work well with the Accounting Team and all other areas of our business. Remote work is included with this position for an individual residing within the Western PA region.

The primary responsibilities of our Accounting Team member position include, but are not limited to:

• Conducts all accounting functions including daily balancing, journal entry preparation/posting and all reporting functions
• Assists Management in ensuring that accounting functions are completed in accordance with established procedures, policies and regulations.
• Assists Management in ensuring that proper Credit Union wide accounting controls are in place.
• Assists with the period-end closings and generates various reports.
• Prepares daily, monthly, annual, and other periodic financial statements, records, and reports as necessary.
• Ensures that records, statements, and reports are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and government regulations.

Job Requirements

Experience: Requires a thorough knowledge of accounting and financial operations, including automated financial and accounting systems.

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent and two years of accounting experience or Associates degree in Accounting preferred.

Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the institution. Discussions involve confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

Other Skills: Solid working knowledge of spreadsheet/word processing software, strong communication skills, and an understanding of Windows operating systems is mandatory.

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
