Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including month-end and year-end close process, accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, and utilities.
- Ensure that all financial transactions are recorded in compliance with the company policies and GAAP.
- Prepare financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, and/or reports required by regulatory agencies.
- Coordinate and complete annual audits, provide recommendations for improving procedures and systems for initiating corrective actions.
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
- Coordinate and strategize the financial planning and budgeting processes.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
- Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience in accounting or a related field, preferably in the non-profit or healthcare industries.
- Proven knowledge and experience in GAAP, month-end close, financial reporting, and audit.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency with accounting software including Excel, databases, and financial analysis tools.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information in clear terms to non-financial staff members and stakeholders.
- Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
- A high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality.
