Accounting Manager

We are currently looking to add a new member to our dynamic Finance team for the position of Accounting Manager. The Accounting Manager will work closely with the CFO on a variety of accounting functions, which include overseeing the payroll and benefits administration for the agency and supporting the CFO in day to day accounting activities, including audit preparation, month-end close and reporting, budgeting and technical projects.
COMPENSATION

• Salary range: $77,000 - $115,000
• Exempt classification per FLSA
• Full-Time

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a 4-year college degree in Business, Accounting, or a concentration in Accounting or another business-related field including:
  • Five or more years' experience in a management position in accounting.
  • A licensed CPA is preferred.
• Must be knowledgeable of the fundamentals of non-profit accounting techniques and possess an excellent knowledge of GAAP and non-profit GAAP. It is preferred that the Accounting Manager have an understanding of federal and California non-profit law.
• Must have extensive experience in computerized systems and their functionality, including accounting software, payroll software and Excel.
• Must have experience in payroll, payroll labor law, benefits administration including health insurance administration, 403(b) plan administration, and experience in preparation and support for financial audits.

As a member of this exceptionally collaborative team, you will:

• Assist the CFO in supporting the accounting team in their roles, ensuring compliance with proper accounting procedures.
• Be responsible for assisting in all aspects of financial analytics, including budgeting, financial close and producing a variety of Excel analytical reports, utilizing advanced formulas such as V/X Lookup, Pivot tables, etc.
• Oversee the agency benefits administration, including management of annual audits.
• Oversee payroll including ensuring all Federal and California payroll labor laws are followed.
• Support the CFO in implementing various new accounting rules, new software implementation and additional accounting functions as necessary.
