This Accounting Manager, PO will be responsible to:
- Manage and provide career development opportunities for the PO accounting staff. Work to ensure proper delegation of work across the accounting department and provide continuous cross–training opportunities. Provide support to the PO Controller and be responsible for communicating issues as they arise.
- Review monthly financial statements, including assessment of performance to budget, variance analyses, and account reconciliations for affiliated Foundations. Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as requested by Foundation Leadership.
- Review monthly financial close presentations to affiliated Foundations’ management, including active participation in monthly close meetings. Collaborate with Foundation management on accounting questions and provides technical accounting guidance.
- Work with all Foundations Finance staff to compile the quarterly intercompany template and eliminations for the PO and Foundations combined financial statements. Work with Foundations and Hospital Finance to prepare the combined financial statements to be included in the enterprise-wide Boston Children’s Hospital
- Review second opinion program accounting with the PO Controller and the Enterprise Innovation and Digital Health Accelerator department managers. Reconcile and communicate MD payments to Foundations.
- Manage the accounts payable coding and expense accruals for Foundations that engage the PO for such services.
- Oversee the payroll accounting for Foundations that engage the PO for accounting services.
- Work with outside auditors to facilitate a smooth and efficient year-end audit process for the PO and all Foundations. Coordinate the preparation of the audited financial statements including the interpretation of accounting principles and development of financial disclosures.
- Assure compliance with all regulatory filings including federal and state tax filings for the PO and all Foundations. Manage and review the regulatory filings along with external tax audit support and delivers completed regulatory filings to the Foundations for approvals and submission to related tax authorities.
- Assist PO senior management with ad hoc requests.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
To qualify, you must have:
- A Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of accounting experience is required
- Analytical skills to resolve human resources, legal, financial, or administrative issues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to work effectively with foundation administrative staff to ensure that internal controls are implemented and maintained
- This is a hybrid/remote role
