JOB SUMMARY: The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the accounting and financial reporting function for a portfolio of Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise a team of 1-2 accountants who are responsible for completing daily accounting tasks, including monthly close activities and preparation of financial statements
- Analyze, review, and accumulate financial data to prepare financial statements and reports for both internal and external purposes
- Maintain an advanced understanding of revenue cycle including reimbursement methodologies to ensure net patient revenue is accurately reflected on the financial statements
- Support the development and monitoring of the operating and cash budgets
- Coordinate the annual financial audit and the preparation of Medicare and Medicaid cost reports
- Provide analytical support to management and ownership to assist in profitability analysis, cash budget analysis, reimbursement analysis, and return on investment as required
- Utilize your knowledge of accounting concepts, theories, principles, practices, and regulations to effectively and efficiently address problems and projects as they arise
- Respect the right to privacy and security of PHI (Protected Health Information)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Experience: Minimum:5+ years of accounting experience with supervisory capacity
- Knowledge of GAAP and basic accounting principles
- Preferred: Knowledge of the Healthcare Industry, especially the SNF Industry
- CPA Certification, not necessary
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated
