Accounting Manager

Accounting Manager is responsible for the supervision of project accounting team, complete knowledge of the systems in use by project accounting team, general ledger and financial statements. He/she must possess the ability to effectively communicate policies, procedures, reports and responsibilities.
The Specifics of the Role:
Management Functions:
* Manage training and guide all personnel under your direction in all facets of accounting and their daily work
* Hire candidates who are intelligent, motivated, work hard, and who generally have a positive attitude
* Perform annual reviews and performance appraisals of all of the personnel reporting to this position
* Accounting introduction at Corporate New Hire Orientation (all new hires)
Projects:
* Ensure the owner billings are prepared accurately and in a timely manner
* Preconstruction billings
* Monthly review of precon costs on jobs
* Monthly review of over and under billings
* Assist personnel in performance of their daily responsibilities
* Assign job numbers to new prospects in CRM
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
* Reviewing Month End Work In Process reports for accuracy
* Understanding of integrations between JDE and other applications (Textura, DataServ, PMWeb, etc.)
* Oversight of Inner company Monthly reconciliations
Coordination of Various Audits:
* Contract audits - Coordinate audit to insure accurate and timely responses
* Independent Audit- work closely with our independent auditors in preparing schedules and other information needed during the audit.
* State Agencies- Assist with sales and use tax audits
Miscellaneous:
* Special Projects
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting and or Finance
* 10+ years' experience in the construction industry
* Minimum 3 years' experience as supervisor
* The ability to function effectively in a highly demanding environment, both as a team player and independently
* Longevity with previous employers is important
* Must possess a strong background in general ledger, cost and management accounting
