Our client is developing highly capable, safe, and reliable robots to help build and maintain satellites, space stations, lunar bases, and cities on Mars.
They are seeking a dynamic leader for their accounting team. This role involves collaborating with auditors, streamlining internal controls for IPO readiness, and managing the accounting team efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, cost accounting, consolidation, and taxes
- Lead the quarterly and year-end financial audit activities
- Assess current practices and procedures, implement effective internal controls across the company, and make recommendations for improvements
- Develop and implement, maintain, and improve a sophisticated ERP system, including, but not limited to implementation of procure-to-pay and inventory management by cooperating with other departments
- Drive progress in the company's pre-IPO preparations
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Supervise and/or manage general ledger accounting functions
- Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
- Work with external auditors, consultants, and firms
- Develop, lead, evaluate, and mentor the accounting team
- Uphold and instill the company's philosophy and culture within the team
- All other duties assigned by the supervisor and the management

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA or MBA preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it being in a supervisory role
- Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- In-depth knowledge and experience in cost accounting
- Experience in implementing and maintaining company-wide systems/software (ERP)
- Experience in startups (preferably with less than 20 employees)
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization
- Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results
- Knowledge of employee relationship-building and performance-management techniques
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with other financial systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
- Experience with venture capital fundraising and M&A.
- Government project involvement.
- Understanding of project management theory.
- Skilled in multinational company accounting.
- Basic knowledge of venture capital funding.
- Proficient in essential tech tools (e.g., pivot tables, GAS/VBA scripts).
Base salary
$100,000/yr - $140,000/yr
