Accounting Manager
5W Public Relations is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our growing Finance team in our New York office. In this key role you will help manage and steer the daily operations of the finance department, by managing the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams while partnering with business units to effectively produce to ensure client billing, and analysis. This position will report to the Controller and VP of Finance while overseeing the Billing and AP teams.
Here's What You'll Be Doing
Manage the company's financial accounts, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivables, cash receipts including daily bank reconciliation and financial assets.
Direct day-to-day operations of the internal accounting controls and processes.
Sign off on all general ledger monthly tasks completion: Revenue, AR, AP, accruals, payroll, bank and credit cards activity, journal entries, etc.
Process and review monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
Perform and supervise accounting month-end close, to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for assigned entities and provide explanation of variances to management.
Oversee cash management and banking activities in compliance with company guidelines.
Prepare and monitor operating actual costs and analyze against budget.
Streamline accounting processes and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
Manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
Facilitate the monthly billing process - liaison between account teams and billing group and review billing reports.
Liaison with Accounts Receivable to review outstanding receivables; collect commentary and assist with collections as required.
Provide financial analysis and client reporting for individual projects.
Review and oversee the setup of new vendors to ensure all proper information and documentation is captured.
Ensure invoices are properly coded and processed in Concur in a timely manner.
Oversee and approve weekly BillPay to ensure vendors are paid in a timely manner.
Review monthly fee and expense details - pull back up as needed.
Review and approve revenue allocations and maintain relevant schedules.
Review and approve monthly revenues based on active contracts and client billings.
Assist with development of internal budgets, forecasts and projections.
Run financial queries upon request and assist with the development of management reports.
Support the Finance department by maintaining files, contracts and other relevant documentation.
Perform technical accounting research to resolve questions as needed.
Produce and continue to improve accounting processes and maintain internal controls.
Provide guidance and support to the accounting team, ensuring their professional development and growth.
Develop, maintain and enforce proper accounting policies and procedures.
Assist with ad hoc requests and projects.
Here's What You Have:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
Well-founded grasp of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
High attention to detail.
Experience with year-end and month-end closings
7+ years Accounting/Finance experience.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Experience with NetSuite.
Experience using Concur Expense and Invoice
Experience with a CRM system.
Aptitude for financial analysis.
Effective project management skills.
Experience working in an Advertising/Public Relations/Marketing firm preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products, Word, and Outlook
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
Superior organizational skills with an eye for detail.
Client service oriented; a problem solver who thinks above, beyond, and ahead to improve day to day interactions and experiences with internal and external clients.

NYC Salary Range: {$95k- $100k}
