Accounting Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide high-level support to VP – Finance & Accounting in the management of accounting and financial activities including:

• Audit & Tax Support
• Monthly Close
• Prepare monthly financial statements.
• Prepare various entries affecting revenue & cost recognition.
• Review monthly bank reconciliations.
• Sales & Use Tax Accrual
• Sales Commission Accruals
• Treasury Management
• Serve as administrator for all bank accounts.
• Review and approve all payment activities, including electronic payments and payee bank information management processes.
• Other Responsibilities
• Problem solve and identify process improvements throughout the accounting department.
• Manage and maintain the documentation of all processes and procedures.
• Selective tax filings.
• Support corporate and divisional finance projects including scorecard reporting and distribution.
• Serve as administrator for the company’s AMEX program.
• Serve as secondary backup for all Senior Accountant functions.
• Performs other tasks, functions and projects as assigned by VP – Finance & Accounting or CFO.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting
• 5+ years’ experience in Finance/Accounting
• Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking to troubleshoot complex scenarios.
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
• Experience using QuickBooks software for tasks relating to general ledger preferred.
