The Accounting Manager will report to ABT’s Controller and serve as an important member of the Finance team. This full-time, salaried position is responsible for maintaining the general ledger for various financial activities and assisting with the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports. The Accounting Manager will be deeply involved in ABT’s day-to-day operations. This position will also be responsible to supervise and manage 2-3 accounting personnel.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Controller and CFO with day-to-day operational activities.
- Supervise and manage accounting personnel .
- Act as a key component on cash flow preparation and budgeting process.
- Maintain balance sheet schedules including accounts receivable, prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, fixed assets, and deferred income.
- Reconcile bank accounts and prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
- Reconcile investment accounts monthly.
- Assist in the annual audit preparation.
- Assist in updating budget vs actual reports throughout the year.
- Assist in the preparation of the 990-tax form.
- Assist in preparation of other federal and state tax forms.
- Generate monthly and quarterly financial reports.
- Support colleagues on the Finance team as necessary to complete departmental tasks.
- Performs other duties as required.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred).
- 3-5 years relevant experience.
- Familiarity with Financial Edge accounting package (preferred).
- Fluency in Microsoft Suite and familiar with database concepts.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence and high standards, including quality customer service to ABT’s constituents (staff, artists, vendors, etc.).
- Demonstrated strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Confidence in using technology.
