Accounting Intern

Position: Accounting Intern

Location: Remote

Position Overview: We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Accounting Intern to support our finance team. This internship offers the opportunity to learn about various aspects of accounting, including accounts payable/receivable, financial reporting, budgeting, and tax preparation. The ideal candidate is eager to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world setting and contribute to our company's success.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with day-to-day accounting tasks, including processing invoices, expense reports, and journal entries.
• Reconcile bank statements and accounts payable/receivable records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Support the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses for management review.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support strategic decision-making.
• Conduct research and analysis on accounting standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Assist with tax preparation and compliance activities, including gathering documentation and preparing filings.
• Provide general administrative support to the finance department, including organizing files, updating spreadsheets, and assisting with special projects as needed.

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Strong academic record with coursework in accounting principles, financial analysis, and taxation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a desire to learn and apply new concepts.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Prior accounting or finance experience is preferred.
