Accounting Consultant

We are currently seeking multiple Accounting Consultants to join our team based out of the Washington D.C. area with potential sustained remote delivery dependent on COVID19 circumstance.

Each position requires:
US Citizenship
a degree from a US accredited institution in Business, Accounting, or Finance
At least two (2) years of experience supporting a federal Government entity or Fortune 500 company
At least five (5) years of experience
What you'll do:
The Accounting Consultants will be expected to perform many of the following duties:
Experience in financial statement compilation and reporting process as well as audit response and remediation in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or Statements of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS)
Provide support to clients' technical areas such as accounting procedures, financial reporting, Funds Balance with Treasury and compliance services
Perform analysis of key business processes and internal controls to identify gaps and opportunities to improve operational efficiency
Provide technical solutions to improve financial management activities
Provide Manager's Internal Control Program (MICP) support
Validate controls and review testing of internal controls related to OMB A-123
Develop, implement, and track corrective action plans in response to audit findings
Our ideal candidate:
Education and Experience
· A degree from an accredited U.S. College or University in in Business, Accounting, or Finance
· Active Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM)" after CPA under preferred certifications
· At least two (2) years of experience supporting a federal Government entity or Fortune 500 company in a relevant functional area
· At least five (5) years experience in a relevant functional area
· DoD SECRET clearance or ability to obtain a clearance
· Proficiency with the web and MS Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint)
· Experience with the Department of the Navy is highly preferred
· Experience with Security Cooperation is also highly preferred
Preferred Certifications
· Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
. Active Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM)

· Experience in financial statement compilation and reporting process as well as audit response and remediation in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or Statements of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS);
· Understanding of the United States Standard General Ledger (USSGL) and the Treasury Financial Manual's Transaction Codes;
· Working knowledge of the Manager's Internal Control Program (MICP), Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circulars A-123, A-136, and A-11; and
· Well organized to manage multiple different tasks and activities across different workstreams
