GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for the Records Management and Jail
Management System. Reports to the Business Project Manager B.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Provide system administration to include setting up new users, maintaining user and security
records, managing and administrating access; coordinates and performs system upgrades; develops
and produces standard and customized management reports.
Manages and coordinates interfaces and access for City departments and external agencies; develops
and maintains standard operating procedures for records management operations to include
compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
Assists with the development, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive departmental
information system; analyzes and designs business processes and solutions; and validates imported
data.
Serves as the technical professional by assisting vendors, employees, and outside agencies with a
resolution to issues; and provides technical coordination, guidance and recommendations as
required.
Responsible for providing system documentation to department end users in accordance with
installation standards including system, operator and user manuals; and schedules and coordinates
user training.
Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE

REQUIRED ABILITIES
• Communication – Ability to communicate complex and technical ideas and proposals effectively
so others will understand to include preparation of reports, schedules, and documentation.
Ability to listen and understand information and ideas presented verbally and in writing.
- Time Management– Ability to establish and implement effective administrative programs and
completion of work in accordance with sound time-management methodology.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or a related field and 5-7 years of
progressively responsible experience in project management or coordination, business or systems
analysis or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires a comprehensive background investigation to include a local, state and federal criminal
history check; sex offender registry and credit check.
A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Requires the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work.
