General Description
The purpose of this position is to provide general accounting duties and financial support. This is accomplished by researching agenda items, contracts, and other documentation; identifying funding sources; creating purchase orders; processing vendor invoices; communicating with vendors; analyzing capital expenditures; coordinating with other Toho departments regarding capital projects, and capitalizing fixed assets. Other duties may include recording financial transactions; reconciling G/L accounts; preparing financial schedules, reconciling bank statements; training employees; providing backup for other Finance functions.
Essential Functions
- Accurately capitalize Construction Work in Progress (CWIP) costs, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and Toho policy.
- Create purchase requisitions for capital projects; collect all supporting documentation and identify appropriate funding sources. Process invoices for payment approval while monitoring deadlines. Maintain detailed documentation for CWIP capitalization, supporting audits and financial reporting.
- Work collaboratively with project managers, engineering team, and relevant departments for information gathering on CWIP.
- Analyze capital expenditures for conformance with GAAP and Toho policy. Ensure adherence to internal control requirements and accounting principles in all activities.
- Perform financial analysis related to CWIP and contribute insights to management decision-making.
- Organize and manage records for CWIP, facilitating accurate and efficient financial reporting. Maintain miscellaneous schedules and reconciliations.
- Generate regular reports on CWIP and other activity, providing insights into financial health.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in CWIP and other procedures, contributing to operational efficiency.
- Effectively communicate with internal teams and auditors regarding CWIP and other matters, fostering clear and transparent financial communication.
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain that required qualification would be:
- A minimum of a four-year degree from an accredited college or university in a related area of study
- Minimum of two years relevant experience
- Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Class E Driver’s License.
