D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for an Accountant for their Accounting Department. The right candidate will be responsible for applying principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. Assists in maintaining budgets and projected costs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned.
- Review SG&A expenses and assist functional teams with proper coding
- Assist in SG&A monthly forecast updates and reconciliation
- Review employee expense reimbursements for accuracy and appropriate documentation
- Review job costs for budget variances, cost code errors, and other posting errors on invoices, etc. Monitor Pre-Acq expense versus forecast. Assist functional teams as needed.
- Prepare and process monthly journal entries
- Assist in monthly close procedures and ensure deadlines are met
- Post bank deposits and create related cash receipt journals
- Monitor fixed asset purchases and ensure timely capitalization and depreciation of assets
- Assist vendors with questions as needed
- Other ad hoc analyses, reports and projects as needed by division management
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Accounting from four-year college or university; of 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
