Accountant

Summary: Responsible for performing all aspects of accounting and maintaining the company’s financial records in compliance with all federal, state, local and professional requirements by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
 

• Perform all aspects of accounting as the lead Accountant(accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, general ledger entries, bank reconciliation, credit card expense report reconciliation, cash applications, collections, and payroll)
• Deliver timely and accurate financial processing, month end close, cash management reports, and balance sheet reconciliation including revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital asset recons, fixed asset activity and debt activity.
• Deliver quarterly and year end reconciliations and information required by accounting firm and bank.
• Responsible for cash management, ACH payments, and maintaining lines of credit
• Process and prepare all state and federal required sales taxes and reports necessary for business including renewing of any certificates for business entities.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, bank reports, and various detailed analysis reports, including MISC-1099 for sales agents
• Maintain files and comply with record retention requirements
• Process weekly AP, entering invoices, submitting payments and reconciling accounts to maintain good standing with vendors.
• Process AR statements, payments, entering credits, creating and closing Vendor Chargebacks, following up with customers and suppliers on overdue balances.
• Provide various reporting to upper management and ownership.
• Work closely with the operations and accounting team to accurately perform all tasks.
• Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions for Keith’s Appliances.
• Exercise optimal discretion and confidentiality in performing tasks while maintaining accurate and detailed documentation.
• Demonstrate a proactive work ethic and communicate with coworkers and customers in a professional, friendly and courteous manner.
• Assist staff with all duties when assistance is needed, including covering when staff members are out of the office in various departments.
• Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
