Astrobotic Technology, Inc. is a space robotics company that seeks to make space accessible to the world. The company’s suite of lunar landers delivers payloads to the Moon for companies, governments, universities, non-profits, and individuals. The company is also developing advanced space robotics capabilities such as terrain relative navigation, mobile robotics for lunar surface operations, and reliable computing systems for mission-critical applications. Originally spun out of Carnegie Mellon University in 2007, Astrobotic is pioneering affordable planetary access that promises to spark a new era of exploration, science, tourism, resource utilization, and mining. Astrobotic’s headquarters is in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with a second location in Mojave, California.

Astrobotic Technology wants you to join our accounting team, with responsibility for accounts payable and general accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have experience with project accounting or government contract accounting. Candidates should anticipate that their responsibilities will evolve over time with the company’s growth.

This position will be seated in our HQ office in Pittsburgh, PA and works of a hybrid work schedule.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage day to day accounting functions:
  • Process daily and weekly accounts payable and expense reimbursements, including entry into the accounting system and responding to vendor inquiries.
  • Voucher processing in the system, working closely with the Purchasing Department to maintain accurate workflow.
  • Cash Receipts posting and reconciliation
• Maintain, update, and follow standard operating procedures within the accounting & finance department in addition to following corporate policies and procedures.
• Performs general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
• Proofs accounting reports for clerical accuracy.
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• Accuracy and timeliness in processing transactions
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and to respond to changing priorities
• 5 – 10 years relevant experience
• Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
• Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and conduct business professionally
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and to work on a computer

Preferred Qualifications or Experience:

• Experience with accounts payable in a project or government contract environment
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint software
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar software

The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and the candidates professional experience.
