As a valuable team member, your primary focus will be on bank reconciliation, accounts payable, and general ledger activities. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the financial integrity of our organization through accurate and timely record-keeping, while also contributing to the overall financial health of the company. You will work across teams to present and translate important financial information and assist in company audits. As an essential part of the accounting team, you will calculate costs of good sold on the company's financial reports, which affects the company's bottom line and purchasing/pricing decisions. Key Responsibilities:
Bank Reconciliation:
Reconcile and analyze all bank accounts on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies, identifying and correcting errors as necessary.
Maintain up-to-date records of cash transactions and ensure proper classification in the GL.
Accounts Payable (AP):
Process vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and other payable transactions.
Verify the accuracy and completeness of supporting documentation for all payables.
Prepare and process payments to vendors in a timely and accurate manner.
Assist in resolving any AP-related inquiries and discrepancies.
General Ledger (GL):
Assist in maintaining the general ledger, ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records.
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations to support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
Contribute to the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Collaborate with the senior accountant to analyze and report on financial data.
Financial Reporting:
Assist in the preparation of various financial reports as required by management.
Provide data and information necessary for budgeting and forecasting processes.
Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
Maintain organized and accurate financial records for audit and tax purposes.
Process Improvement:
Actively seek opportunities to streamline and improve AP, GL, and bank reconciliation processes.
Recommend and implement process enhancements as appropriate.
Qualifications:
Must be US Citizen
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
Previous accounting or finance internship or work experience is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Basic Qualification:
Must be a U.S. person within the meaning of US regulations
Education and Experience:
· BS Degree in Accounting or related area of study preferred
· Minimum 2 years related experience and/or training preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· High degree of proficiency with Excel
· Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications including Work, Access and PowerPoint
· Proficiency with Unanet is a plus
· Outstanding interpersonal skills; team oriented
· Highly-developed verbal and written communication skills
· The ability to communicate with people from multiple layers of a company from production staff through senior management
· Must be a focused and willing to step in where needed to support the department and the business
