Catholic Charities has an immediate opening for an Accountant to work 4 days a week at 30 hours. This position is is responsible for accurate and timely accounts payable transactions and in collaboration with HR, responsible for the complete payroll process.

Principal Responsibilities
Expense Management (50%)
Process, verify and reconcile all invoices in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
Prepare payment documents, print checks, and maintain and process electronic fund transfers.
Maintain accuracy and monthly reconciliation of expense accounts.
Responsible for vendor maintenance, including 1099 annual reporting and compliance.
Maintain fixed asset schedule and prepare monthly depreciation entries.
Responsible for the month end close process, including journal entry preparation, accruals, and allocations.
Payroll (50%)
Maintain confidentiality and integrity of employee payroll information.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of bi-weekly payroll, including salary, benefits, and deduction calculations.
Coordinate efforts between payroll, human resources, and other departments to ensure proper maintenance of UKG data.
Analyze and reconcile payroll data to general ledger.
Evaluate payroll system upgrades to ensure adherence to regulations set by various regulatory agencies and internal policies of the organization.
Audit payroll procedures and perform corrective actions as required.
Responsible for quarterly and year end regulatory compliance and tax reporting
Assist in annual external audits including 403B and Worker's Comp audit.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting is required with at least five years of accounting experience.
Strong working knowledge of GAAP and Nonprofit accounting.
Proficient in Excel. Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT, Raiser's Edge NXT and UKG a plus.
Strong mathematical, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to communicate effectively.
