Accountant Salary: $60,000-$80,000
As an Accountant, you will:
- Ensure the accurate and timely dissemination of external reports: profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow projections, operating performance
- Coordinate month-end, quarterly-end and year-end closing reports
- Reconcile bank statements, verify balances, debts and intercompany transactions in support of financial statement preparation
- Troubleshoot financial statements inaccuracies; report and resolve discrepancies on statements
- Review financial transactions for general ledger coding accuracy
- Create, update and verify journal entries
- Assist Controller in tracking capital expenditures and preparing depreciation calculations for reporting and tax purposes
- Prepare and analyze quarterly distribution analysis
- Coordinate and ensure timely and accurate reporting to lending institutions in compliance with loan covenants
- Assist Controller in filing reports to federal, state and local agencies on behalf of the company
- Monitor accounts receivable reports and notify property management of increasing balances
- Assist with management of internal controls by reviewing assigned processes
- Participate in a wide variety of special projects and reporting
Accountant Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 5 years’ experience in accounting
- Property or construction accounting preferred
- Thorough understanding of GAAP
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Experience in Procore, Sage, and/or Rent Manager preferred
- Partnership tax experience a plus
- Excellent attention to detail
- Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strength in working independently as well as part of a team
