This position performs Federal Transit Administration (FTA) draws daily, as well as monthly federal draws for these other federal agencies, not including Federal Highway Administration (FHWA): National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), and Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) monthly. Performs Federal Grant Reconciliations, submits Federal Financial Reports and helps in advising on budgets for federal grants as needed. Gathers all data needed for federal draws. These drawdown requests are through the Electronic Clearing House Operation system, or Delphi system.
This position may be available for remote work within Arizona (2 days per week in the office/hoteling).

Prepares and submits draw-down requests for Federal Reimbursements. Maintains control logs tracking draw requests.
Reconcile grant projects in AZ360 statewide accounting system to Federal Transit Administration(FTA) Grants and Non-Federal Transit Administration Grants.
Monitors and reconciles cash balances of Various Grant Programs.
Resolves questions and problems presented by internal and external customers, recognize public and constituent issues, and identify actions to address the issues, including the involvement of other appropriate ADOT groups and units.
Prepares quarterly and year-end Federal Financial Reports (FFR) for All Federal Agencies except FTA.
Knowledge of:
Automated accounting systems - to analyze projects in the AZ360 statewide accounting system, verify proper budget and funding configurations for billing projects,account for revenues, expenses, and payments on projects,and process documents to allow projects to bill to proper funding sources
Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Google Suites, Google mail, Google docs - to accurately complete daily tasks, produce accurate and timely reports,produce ad hoc reports, and to provide information to other ADOT customers regarding grant projects
Skills in:
Written and oral communication
Strong organizational skills are a must to correspond with Federal Agencies and ADOT customers regarding project funding
Analytical - to identify and correct errors and inconsistencies
Interpersonal relationships - to communicate with various levels of individuals with Federal Agencies
Ability to:
Operate a computer to access AZ360 and various Federal systems
Learn and properly apply state and federal laws regarding transportation funding
Comprehend program information. Use various systems to conduct analysis & research to ensure costs are properly allocated. Research federal funding and billing errors
Effectively work with Project Managers to resolve issues related to grant project
A bachelor's degree with a major in accounting from an accredited college or university; OR a Bachelor's degree in a related field with a minimum of 24 semester hours of accounting courses OR previous relevant work experience. Ideal candidate will have considerable understanding of automated financial accounting systems, spreadsheet applications, and other analytical tools.
Valid state driver's license with an acceptable 39 month driving history.
