Here's what you'd do:

• Perform moderately complex professional accounting work in the recording and reporting of financial transactions.
• Prepares financial statements, insurance department, and other regulatory filings and performs analyses.
• Ensure the timely and accurate posting, balancing, and reconciliation of the general ledger for each entity.
• Prepare work papers, financial statements, and reports for internal accounting and auditing.
• Research and analyze fluctuations between current financial results compared to the prior year, prior month, and budgeted amounts.
• Work with independent and insurance department auditors to ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements.
• Create and disseminate insurance department quarterly and annual statements, including converting GAAP to statutory accounting.
• Recommend changes in accounting systems and procedures.
• In collaboration with business partners, assist with budget activity, proper expenditure coding, document preparation, and other accounting-related activities.
• Regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment in performing their job duties.
• Process regulatory assessments, producer appointments, and other fees.
• Prepare annual business tax renewals as well as municipal licensing.
• Ensure validity of assessment/fees and appointments and the amounts.
• Prepare all necessary payment requests, obtain approvals, and mail/file promptly and accurately.
• Utilize TrackerPro to prepare due diligence letters by state laws.
• Assist in answering emails we receive in response to due diligence letters.
• File unclaimed property reports by state deadlines.
• Ensure the proper handling of unclaimed property for particular handling clients.
• Process insurance reviews and certificate of insurance requests for clients and RFPs timely.
• Prepare and file annual insurance supplements and surveys for assigned states.
• Supplements and surveys should be completed and reviewed to avoid errors and timely submission.
• Work with the Company's outside actuaries to obtain actuarial memorandums for rate filings.
• Work with the Company's outside contractor to obtain required documents for rate filings.
• Work with internal business partners (Legal, Underwriting, and SBUs) to obtain required documents for rate filings and to ensure the states approve rate filings.
• Complete special projects assigned as assigned.

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in an accounting environment.
• Minimum of 2 years experience using accounting and auditing principles and practices, including GAAP and statutory accounting.
