JOB TITLE: Accountant (WFH-Remote)
OFFER RATE: PHP 40,000 - 45,000 per month (Fulltime)
Working Hours: TBD (usually US hrs Night shift)
LOCATION: United States (with a focus on African investments)

JOB OVERVIEW
As an Accountant within our VC firm, you will play a crucial role in managing financial operations, compliance with US regulatory standards for VC firms, overseeing tax implications, and ensuring accurate audit procedures. Working closely with our fund admin, you will play a pivotal role in managing the accounting aspects of our investments in African markets.
JOB ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Financial Management and Reporting:

• Maintain and manage financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP standards.
• Prepare periodic financial statements, reports, and budgets for internal and external stakeholders.
• Conduct financial analysis to support investment decisions and portfolio management.

• Regulatory Compliance:

• Stay abreast of US regulations concerning VC firms, ensuring adherence and implementation of relevant compliance measures.
• Coordinate with legal and compliance teams to ensure all regulatory obligations are met.

• Tax and Audit Oversight:

• Oversee tax planning and compliance activities, collaborating with external tax advisors as needed.
• Coordinate and facilitate audit processes, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely submission of required documents.

• Portfolio Support:

• Collaborate with investment teams to assess financial implications of potential investments and support due diligence processes.
• Monitor financial performance of portfolio companies and provide insights for decision-making.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Master's degree or CPA/CFA certification preferred.
• Proven experience 5yrs+ in accounting, preferably within VC/PE firms, with a strong understanding of investment accounting principles.
• Thorough knowledge of US GAAP, regulations governing VC firms, and familiarity with international accounting standards.
• Proficiency in tax planning, compliance, and audit procedures.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data for strategic decision-making.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams and geographies.
• Experience working with African markets or demonstrated interest in African investments is a plus.
• Knowledge of the US financial system and experience working for a US firm (Preferred)
