Job description

Responsible for creating an uplifting, distraction-free, and Christ-centered camp experience with clean facilities, engaging activities, and intentional interactions. Assists the Accommodations Manager in leading staff and works alongside staff in cleaning the facilities, facilitating activities, and taking care of guest needs with excellence.
Leadership Responsibilities

  • Acts as a model of leadership and discipleship to the accommodations staff by setting a Godly example of a moral, ethical, and loving leader.
  • Works in tandem with the Accommodations Managers and Retreat Coordinator to ensure that the guest needs are always met.
  • Assists in the training of new staff as well as seasonal and weekend staff.
  • Shares ideas and helping implement new strategies and procedures for improving the department.
  • Helps schedule workdays and organizing clean-up crews and other associates.
  • Oversees the Accommodations department in the absence of the Accommodations Manager.
  • Maintains an inventory of supplies, notifying the Accommodations Manager of any items that need to be ordered.

Department Responsibilities
  • Ensures that all guests are greeted, honored and satisfied.
  • Cleans rooms, dorms, bathrooms, and other camp areas to create a distraction-free environment where health standards are met.
  • Sets up meeting rooms according to guests' requests and Retreat Coordinator's specifications.
  • Runs and lead activities that engage and build up campers.
  • Keeps storage areas well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
  • Assists with the installation, set-up, repair, and troubleshooting of audio/visual equipment for guest groups.
  • Notifies the Accommodations Manager of needed repairs or safety issues.
  • Keeps regular, timely attendance while maintaining a clean, safe and unobstructed workplace*
  • Must take part in the fire evacuation plan for the specific area assigned.
  • The employee must accept the lodging from PCCC as a condition of employment in order to carry out responsibilities as outlined in the fire evacuation plan. The employee would not be able to perform this service without the lodging. (It is for the convenience of the employer.)

Requirements
  • Demonstrates a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ, exercising personal faith through consistent daily living in accordance to God's Word.
  • Understands the mission of Palomar Christian Conference Center and is in agreement with its Statement of Faith, and submits all other goals and desires to that main goal.
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Possesses interpersonal skills such as are required to maintain positive relations with both staff and guests
  • Possesses excellent customer service skills and presents a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Possesses strong attention to detail and organization while managing multiple priorities
  • Is proficient in basic Microsoft applications (Windows, Office, etc.}
  • Able to lead others and take responsibility for accomplishing departmental goals
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis
  • Able to squat and bend at the waist
  • Able to stand for a minimum of 3 hours at a time
  • Able to perform repetitive motion with hands
  • Experience working with and troubleshooting audio/visual equipment
