Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit- The Child Care Education Program at CCEP is made up of 3 campus-based child care centers and serves children ages 0-7. All centers hold North Carolina's highest 5 star rating and are nationally accredited through NAEYC. Our observation-based curriculum for young children reflects the needs, interests, and abilities of the children in each classroom in all domains of development- social, emotional, cognitive and physical. Our philosophy is founded on the idea that learning occurs when children are actively involved and engaged in experiences that are age appropriate, individually appropriate and culturally appropriate. As a lab school, we have a large number of university students participating in the program where they practice skills on how to apply knowledge they gain from their courses.
