SUMMARY:
The Access Control Representative controls the access of people and objects on the premises in accordance with all DHL security policies and government regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sign in/out visitors and non-STA personnel, verifying identity, providing appropriate visual identifier and arranging for escort.
- Verify employees’ access; prevent piggy-backing; ensure badges are visibly displayed.
- Conduct interior and exterior safety/security inspections or audits as directed.
- Monitor security cameras for suspicious activity, violations of company policy and criminal activity.
- Report suspicious activity, violations of company policy and criminal activity.
- Write clear and concise incident reports.
- Assist with emergency situations such as medical emergencies, evacuation, severe weather shelter/monitoring, among others.
- Essential duties are not necessarily exhaustive and may be supplemented or otherwise revised by DHL at its sole discretion.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High School or equivalent training and/or at least 6 months related experience preferred
REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Understand and prepare reports
- Understand and carry out oral instructions and written instructions
- Understand standardized math processes
- Works with minimum supervision
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Walking inside and outside of Distribution Center
- Bending to pick up debris from the floor
- Lift and examine backpacks weighing up to 20 pounds
- Observe and recognize visitors, visitor badges and vests
- Sit at a desk up 90% of the time
- Frequently operate a computer and other office equipment
- This is a warehouse environment where frequently this position will be exposed to cold, hot and changing temperatures; will constantly experience noise at medium level not damaging or loud enough to require protective equipment; will frequently be exposed to dust, dirt and changes in lighting
