What you’ll own
- In this role, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering complex projects related to physical and logical Access Control systems.
- Create / Review a Statement of Work (SOW) and prepare Project Plan to execute the SOW.
- Create / Review system designs and Bills of Materials (BOM) for accuracy and completeness.
- Prep, install, configure, and test Access Control systems according to the sold design. (Includes managing accounts, launching/imaging servers, activation of equipment, opening tickets, mediating acquisition of licenses, etc.).
- Oversee the installation, testing, and support of Access Control devices and software, such as card readers, door controllers, CCTV cameras, and access management platforms.
- Ensure all inventory on the BOM for a project is accounted for before it ships out.
- Write and update manuals on all new equipment and processes.
- Provide feedback to improve our processes (i.e., building scripts and templates, improving security and quality, improving efficiency, etc.)
- Work with internal and external resources to prepare the Installation Team for the execution of the deployment per the Project Plan.
- Provide on-site support for installation technicians from project start to completion.
- A daily check-in with the Engineering team for any needs/challenges/direction.
- Daily updates to the Project Manager on status or possible needs for change orders.
- Update project notes in CRM as well as project deployment stages.
- The first line of defense for any technical escalation/needs.
- Provide feedback to Engineering teams on engineered solutions and any areas of opportunity or refinement.
- Perform a quality audit on installation to ensure 100% compliance with Groove and industry standards.
- Provide Technical Support for all projects after the installation.
- Other duties as assigned by Department leadership.
Experience and skills you’ll have
- 3+ years of experience in the field installing and configuring Access Control systems that include smart locks, door controllers, smart door readers, credential configuration, and cloud and on-premise systems.
- Estimated 75% of nationwide travel is required
- Experience with Access Control PDK, ICT, and Avigilon (Openpath) systems is a plus.
- Experience with smart locks like Salto, Assa Abloy, and Dormakaba is a plus.
- Experience with Server Configuration is a plus.
- Understanding basic network services such as Ethernet and WiFi, DHCP, IP Addressing, etc.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, as well as a strong knowledge of Access Control standards and best practices.
- You should be able to work independently and as part of a team, and handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
