Program Summary:
An Acceleration Academy is a week-long academic program designed to accelerate student learning through engaging, standards-aligned lessons that meet the specific academic needs of students participating in the program. Each Acceleration Academy focuses on a specific content area and students who attend an Academy receive the equivalent of approximately one extra month of learning in one week. Acceleration Academy classes will provide students with targeted supports to master grade-level standards.

Program Summary:

Statement of Duties:
- Promote and maintain optimal physical and emotional health of students
- Provide first aid and emergency care in injury or illness to school population as documented
- Notify parents of illness and accidents, which occur during school hours and fill out appropriate accidents form
- Contirbute postively to maintaining safety in the school
- Keep daily log of students seen in health room
- Maintain health records and document pertinent information
- Supervise and administer prescribed medication and treatment during school hours
- Inform teachers and staff regarding medical issues that may affect them
- Act as a health resource person, have knowledge of community resources, and appropriate referrals
- Maintain Health Room and assigned equipment and supplies
- Nurse may be assigned to duties as directed by the Supervisor of Health Services
Qualifications:
- Applicant must possess a current, valid Registered Nurse License issued by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing
