With over 18 years of experience supporting the academic needs of children and advising families, our founder Ms. Sabrina Figueroa and the academic team at Inspire Education, is uniquely equipped to empathize with a child’s needs by creating a safe space where making mistakes are encouraged and learning is made easier. 

Job Purpose:
The Academic Success Tutor will implement Inspire Education’s academic program. The aim of this role is to ensure a high standard of support is being facilitated in areas identified as necessary and to ease learning. We are currently looking for an experienced and professional educator to join the team. If you are a compassionate and self-motivated individual with a specific interest in education, we urge you to apply! In this position, you will work directly with students to assist them in gaining a better understanding of concepts taught in the classroom, you will be responsible for teaching skill deficiencies, you will support the academic needs of enrolled students in the areas of literacy and math, prepare lesson materials, maintain learning space tidiness, take attendance, and develop creative activities as needed.

Accountability and Relationship:
* Reports to Director
* Teaches, supervises, and supports students during instructional and non-instructional times

Main Responsibilities:
* Contribute to student learning, growth and advancement
* Demonstrate academic competence in the subject area(s)
* Follow prepared lesson plans, units and projects to achieve learning objectives
* Adapt teaching method as necessary to meet students’ needs
* Help students improve study methods and habits
* Monitor and record student progress and attendance
* Maintain a growth mindset toward student learning and teaching practice
* Facilitate problem-solving with a curious mind and critical thinking skills
* Collaborate effectively with peers and director to increase student performance
* Ensure learning space environment is safe and clean
* Attend training, school events, and staff meetings as necessary

Skills and Experience:
* 2 years of experience working in an academic setting as a teacher, tutor, or similar role
* Ability to follow a lesson plan and successfully instruct students in theories and methods
* Ability to effectively communicate with others and clearly express complex ideas
* Proficient active listening skills to understand and adapt to students’ various learning needs
* Must have leadership skills and patience for working with students of all ages

Minimum Requirements:
* Associate or Bachelor Degree in relevant field is desired
* A degree in Elementary Education is preferred
* Training coursework in education is desired, teacher qualification preferred

Working Hours (flexible according to candidate's availability):
Monday through Friday: 2:30 pm – 8:30 pm, Saturday: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm

Competitive hourly rate, based on qualifications, starting at $25/hour up to $50/hour
