Job Overview:
The Academic Enrichment and Student Support Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the academic and personal development of students at our institution. This position is primarily focused on matriculating ninth-grade students, with a special emphasis on Fitzgerald Scholars. The coordinator will develop and implement Academic Enrichment programs, mentorship initiatives, and intervention strategies to support students' academic, personal, and career goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Coordination and Execution:
  • Facilitate after-school academic tutoring programs, including coordination with tutors and maintenance of attendance records.
  • Organize monthly activities and meetings with the Fitzgerald Cohort of Students to enhance learning opportunities.
  • Coordinate and execute summer enrichment programs for incoming ninth-grade students.

Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with 9th Grade Teachers, Guidance Counselors and Administration (Principal, Dean of Students, Assistant Principal for Academic Affairs) on student concerns and intervention plans.
  • Coordinate with teachers for content-specific tutoring and after-school activities.
  • Facilitate monthly 9th Grade Teacher Meetings and facilitate digital referral systems for freshman concerns.

Goal Setting and Tracking:
  • Create academic intervention plans and trauma-specific interventions for students, providing resources to support both students and their families.
  • Identify and support high-risk 9th-grade students with tailored academic intervention plans.
  • Hold monthly and weekly check-in meetings with 9th graders and Students of concern, respectively.
  • Monitor student data, growth, progress, and trends

Parental Communication:
  • Effectively communicate with parents/guardians of 9th grade students when appropriate and necessary.
  • Conduct regular phone calls to parents of students of concern, maintaining digital records of these communications.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as delegated by the Assistant Principal of Academic Affairs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Experience in academic program coordination, student counseling, academic intervention, or related field.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Capable of establishing and upholding professional relationships with students, while ensuring their accountability.
  • Proficiency in data management and digital tools (e.g., Google Sheets).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders including students, parents, faculty, and administration.
