Position Summary: This position assists in the numeric growth of online undergraduate and graduate programs. The Academic Coach II is responsible for the recruitment of prospective students and for providing exceptional customer service to new, continuing, and resuming students. The Academic Coach must always serve with Christian character and academic integrity.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Implements prescribed communication plan with assigned student caseload, including meetings, phone calls, and emails.
- Facilitates the successful transition of new students into their first courses and defines and establishes a degree completion plan for each student. Assists students with course registration process.
- Participates in the development and implementation of a strategic recruitment plan and retention for online undergraduate and graduate programs.
- Provides proactive advisement and coaching for the new and existing students.
- Fully participates in marketing activities and recruitment events for online undergraduate and graduate programs.
- Coordinates follow-up to prospective and existing students according to current processes.
- Participates and facilitates local Information Sessions, NSO, Webinars, and participates in Graduation events.
- Develops community relations through churches, colleges, and business contacts.
- Assists the University in developing and advancing relationships with transfer centers at community colleges in designated areas.
- Promote cooperation, teamwork, and coordination between the various departments of the University, toward the end of honoring the Lord and providing the best possible services to constituents.
- Participates in all training and development to assist in developing role as an Academic Coach.
- Monitors student academic progress and intervenes appropriately (student, deans, faculty, etc).
- Participates in course and/or University Early Alert, withdrawal process, and contacts inactive students and assists them in resuming their studies.
- Documents and utilizes student interactions in appropriate University Systems.
- Administers, as directed, pre-enrollment events that require University-wide collaboration
- Participates in the recruitment of established partnership programs.
- Visits community colleges regularly including participation in transfer days and fair events.
- Other duties as determined by the Vice President for Enrollment Management

- Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of computer experience required.
- Knowledge and Skills: Understanding the demands of higher education, and office and computer operations. Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, event planning, computer literacy (internet, e-mail, office applications).
- Mental Demands: Self-directed, proactive, and able to take initiative; highly organized, detail- and multi-task oriented; ability to set priorities and responsibilities; competency in problem solving; ability to deal effectively with a variety of personalities and various cultural backgrounds.
- Visual Demands: Extended viewing of computer monitor; proofreading, photocopying, filing, and quality control.
- Physical Demands: Extended time at keyboard/computer monitor and telephone; some travel.
- Environment: Varying pace from moderate to very busy, service-oriented, multicultural. Extensive contact with support staff, faculty, students, prospective students, church leaders, and the general public.
- Character: Must embody Christian character and be actively involved in a local church.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
