Job Summary:
The Academic Assistant position provides academic andadministrative support to the faculty and courses in the Medical Educationdepartment with a broad range of duties including purchasing, payroll, andscheduling. In addition, this position will provide administrative support tothe department of simulation which works closely with the Medical Educationteam.

Ability to lift and carry 8-10 pounds, stoop, reach, stand,walk, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions with orwithout reasonable accommodations.

Education & Experience
Position Qualifications:
Required:
-Two years college or technical training, or equivalent experience
-Experience as an administrative, academic, or teaching assistant
-Experience and knowledge working in higher education, particularly Medical Education
-Valid Driver's License
Skills, Proficiencies and Knowledge:
-Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (or similar calendar/scheduling program) and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
-Learn and use new software, scheduling systems and web-based utility programs
-Independently perform multiple tasks with accuracy, efficiency, and a high attention to detail
-Prioritize assignments and needs
-Perform duties in a way that advances and supports the mission of the department and university
-Maintain a respectful workplace environment and model a positive and proactive attitude
-Communicate and work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
