Physical Requirements:Sitting at workstation for extended periods; lifting and/or carrying light-weight objects.
Shift:Monday-Friday; 8:00am-5:00pm; and occasional evenings and weekends.
Job Summary:The College of Arts & Sciences advising unit serves a large number of students at the University of Kentucky. The Academic Advisor II will work with students through direct one-on-one advising, including but not limited to providing information on course selection and registration, interpreting and explaining university and college policies and degree requirements, assisting students to identify skill interest and career options, and advising students on academic-related issues specific to that individual student. The Academic Advisor II will regularly monitor student progress to degree, considering current coursework, as well as any previously earned credit to assist the student with maintaining timely degree completion. In addition to these responsibilities, the Academic Advisor II will assist with multiple orientations/advising conferences throughout the academic year.
