Position Summary
Students in this position run the weekly kayak roll sessions in the Eccles HWAC Aquatic Center.This position has responsibilities that go above and beyond the responsibilities of all Kayak Roll Session Staff who are responsible for promoting paddlesports, teaching those who want to learn to roll a kayak, teaching safety skills as it relates to rolling a kayak, and managing risk during the sessions. Primarily, this position is responsible for training other Kayak Roll Session Staff, utilizing high level in water educational techniques and lesson structures, maintaining and defining risk management standards and procedures along with the OP Directors, and ensuring a high level of kayak instruction at our roll sessions.
Required Qualifications
  • Certified at Level 3 or higher in River Kayaking by the American Canoe Association or similar level of training.
  • CPR & FIrst Aid (can be acquired at no cost after hiring)
  • Documented experience in river kayaking and river kayaking instruction
