Primary Purpose:
management Prerequisites:
- Refrigerant Certificate as required by 40 CFR Part 82, Subpart F; and
- Minimum of two years' experience in repair and maintenance
- Clear and Valid Texas Driver's License
- High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of HVAC repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference material
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations
- Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
- Ability to use hand and power tools
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions in various types of heating and air conditioning systems, Repair, replace, or calibrate controls including thermostats and switches.
- Install new heating and air conditioning systems and components and relocate and expand existing HVAC systems as needed. Fabricate, assemble, and install duct
work and piping according to code specifications and connect motors, compressors, temperature controls, and humidity controls according to writing to - Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and procedures for all HVAC equipment, including changing
filters and cleaning condensers and coils. Perform duct cleaning and air quality testing as needed. - Receive and complete all work orders
- Keep inventory of assigned tools.
- Responsible for the maintenance of the school vehicle assigned to them.
- Always carry a two-way radio and respond when called.
- Perform any special task assigned by the Department Director and Lead A/C Technician.
- Respond to all emergency calls.
- Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment and ensure that equipment is in safe operating condition.
- Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to a supervisor.
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing.
Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
