QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.)
- BCBA (Board Certified Behavioral Analysis)
- Such additions or alternatives to the above qualifications as the superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The ABA Behavior Therapist will work with students to:
- Utilize principles of Applied Behavioral Analysis, Verbal Behavior, DIR/Floor time techniques, and Social Skills training.
- Develop student behavioral plans.
- Implement programs and behavior protocols.
- Collect and analysis student data.
- Prepare behavioral portfolios for students.
- Collaborate with the Child Study Team to organize educational assessments, placement input and the development of IEP's.
- Provide individual interventions by implementing and monitoring the ABA intervention plan.
- Ensure that all lEP objectives are met.
- Align behavioral plans with the NJCCC and Common Core Standards.
- Report test results by interpreting, analyzing, documenting data, and completing progress reports.
The ABA Behavior Therapist will also:
- Work as a member of an interdisciplinary team to create behavioral supports for students.
- Maintain professionalism.
- Make an effort to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with parents, students, peers and employer.
- Adhere to the policies and procedures adopted by the board of education, administrative directives, and state and federal regulations which are appropriate to the position.
- Make an effort to provide for the intellectual, emotional, social, and physical needs of the students as directed by the certified staff member(s).
- Demonstrate competence in his/her work; be punctual and prompt in completion of assignments.
- Participate in workshops, in service programs and staff meetings as requested.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining professional networks and participating in professional organizations.
- Perform such other tasks as may from time to time be assigned by his/her supervisor.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Ten (10) month basis. Salary and fringe benefits according to the Lakewood Education Association contract.
