REPORTS TO: Athletic Director / Building Principal
SALARY: As determined by negotiated salary schedule and current memorandums of understanding with the collective bargaining unit.
This position is for the 2024-2025 school year.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Coach 8th Grade JV volleyball athletes in the basics and fundamentals skills, drills and practices of volleyball. Maintain inventory of equipment, uniforms, paperwork. Serve as a positive role model on and off the fields and ensure safety of all athletes. Help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem.Supervise team on the field, in the locker room, and on bus trips. Maintain equipment, accurate records, supplies and inventory.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successful Middle School coaching experience
- Adheres to sports philosophy of Phoenix-Talent Schools
- Model high standards of behavior
- Meet/ability to meet coaching certification requirements: FA/CPR, Concussion Training, Anabolic Steroid, blood-borne pathogen, etc.
- Experience coaching volleyball preferred
- Meet required driver's training for activity van usage
- Must have a flexible work schedule to accommodate practices and matches
- May be given to those candidates who hold a valid Oregon teaching license
- May be given to those who are bilingual in Spanish and English
EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually with District #4 goals and objectives and these performance responsibilities serving as criteria.
